Dr. Ashkan Ghavami is one of Southern California’s leading board-certified plastic surgeons. He specializes in providing rhinoplasty in Beverly Hills. Educational Background and Training
Dr. Ghavami received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Irvine, and his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin. He completed his plastic surgery residency and an advanced fellowship program in hand and reconstructive microsurgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, one of the nation’s most renowned plastic surgery training programs. Many of the global leaders in rhinoplasty have taught at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center for decades, and Dr. Ghavami has been fortunate to have received his foundation in specialized rhinoplasty training from these renowned surgeons. Dr. Ghavami describes this experience; “It is like learning painting from Rembrandt, Matisse, Picasso, Salvador Dali and Michelangelo all in one location!”
Professional Plastic Surgery and Rhinoplasty Specialization
Dr. Ghavami has had a passion for plastic surgery from an early age, and has made numerous contributions to the field of rhinoplasty in particular. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Ghavami is an Assistant Clinical Professor (Voluntary) at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. He has been featured as a rhinoplasty specialist and facial aesthetic surgeon on high-profile television programs and networks.
Past media appearances include “The Tyra Show,” “The Doctors,” CBS News, Fox News, and the Discovery Channel. Dr. Ghavami is also regularly invited to speak at the annual Dallas Rhinoplasty Symposium, where each year surgeons from around the world learn rhinoplasty from leaders in the field of rhinoplasty. In 2013, the Dallas Rhinoplasty Symposium is celebrating its 30th anniversary and Dr. Ghavami will be on the faculty again, speaking on ethnic rhinoplasty topics and dorsal augmentation.
Dr. Ghavami is extensively published and has authored numerous textbook chapters and research articles on specific topics in rhinoplasty, ethnic rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty. He serves as guest reviewer of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery journal, the official journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He has also won awards for his academic contributions from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons, to name a few.
Lastly, in 2023 Dr. Ghavami became President of the prestigious “Rhinoplasty Society,” an organization dedicated to the specialty of rhinoplasty.
